1. Introduction
Welcome to ZapLah. These Terms govern your access to and use of the ZapLah mobile application, website, and all related services (“Services”).
These Terms include and reference:

- The Community Guidelines
- The Data Deletion Policy
- Any additional policies referenced within the Application
2. Platform Nature and User Roles
ZapLah operates as a peer-to-peer marketplace connecting two user types:
- “Requesters” – Users who post item requests for overseas purchase and delivery
- “Travellers” – Users who travel and offer to purchase and deliver items for Requesters
ZapLah acts solely as a facilitator and technology platform and does not:
- Purchase items on behalf of users
- Transport, deliver, or handle goods
- Employ or supervise Requesters or Travellers
- Guarantee item quality, legality, delivery, or availability
3. Eligibility
To use the Services, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have legal capacity to enter binding agreements
- Not be barred from using digital or financial services under applicable law
- Not previously have been suspended or removed from ZapLah
4. Account Registration and Security
You must create an account to access most features. Users agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Keep login credentials secure
- Update any information that becomes inaccurate
- Be responsible for all actions taken under their account
If you suspect unauthorized access, notify ZapLah immediately. Accounts are non-transferable.
5. Use of the Services
Users must NOT:
- Request or transport prohibited, illegal, unsafe, or restricted items
- Engage in fraud, misrepresentation, or money laundering
- Circumvent ZapLah’s payment system
- Create fake accounts, requests, offers, or reviews
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Interfere with platform security or functionality
- Post misleading, inaccurate, or harmful content
ZapLah may take enforcement actions including warnings, suspensions, or account termination.
6. Payments, Fees, and Payment Hold (Escrow)
ZapLah uses Stripe for payment processing and does not store full card numbers or CVV codes.
6.1 Payment Hold (Escrow)
When a Requester accepts an Offer:
- The Requester’s payment is captured and held
- The Traveller purchases the item
- The Traveller delivers the item as agreed
- Funds are released after delivery confirmation or after the dispute window expires
ZapLah may freeze funds if fraud or suspicious activity is detected.
6.2 Fees
Fees may include:
- Platform service fees
- Currency conversion or processing fees
All fees are displayed before confirmation.
6.3 Refunds
Refunds depend on:
- Transaction stage
- Whether the Traveller already purchased the item
- Dispute evidence and outcome
- Payment provider rules
Some fees may be non-refundable unless required by law.
7. Requester Responsibilities
Requesters agree to:
- Submit accurate and lawful item requests
- Ensure item legality in both countries
- Respond promptly to Travellers
- Review proof of purchase and delivery carefully
- Confirm receipt promptly after delivery
- Avoid pressuring Travellers into unsafe or off-platform actions
8. Traveller Responsibilities
Travellers agree to:
- Purchase the exact item described
- Upload clear and authentic proof of purchase
- Retain receipts until completion
- Deliver items safely and on time
- Comply with airport, airline, customs, and import/export laws
- Not carry illegal, restricted, or undeclared goods
Travellers are solely responsible for customs compliance, duties, penalties, and legal exposure.
9. Additional Operational Terms
ZapLah does not provide or oversee any external logistics arrangements. Users are fully responsible for choosing how to hand over or deliver items, including meetups and personal transportation.
- ZapLah is not liable for delays, loss, or damages during user-arranged transportation
- ZapLah does not insure items and does not provide transit guarantees
- Users must exercise judgment when arranging collection or delivery
10. Prohibited and Restricted Items
Users may NOT request or transport:
- Illegal drugs or controlled substances
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives
- Hazardous chemicals or dangerous goods
- Counterfeit or fraudulent items
- Stolen or IP-infringing goods
- Airline-restricted or customs-restricted items
- Any item prohibited under applicable laws
11. High-Value Items
For high-value items (e.g., > SGD 200, 500, or 1000):
- ZapLah does not provide insurance
- ZapLah does not guarantee compensation for loss, damage, or confiscation
- Users must assess risks and may secure external insurance
ZapLah may require extra verification for such transactions.
12. Disputes Between Users
If an issue arises:
- Users should first communicate in-app
- Either party may submit evidence such as receipts, photos, or chat logs
- ZapLah may request additional evidence
- ZapLah may freeze or release funds depending on findings
ZapLah’s decisions on funds within the platform are final.
13. Community Guidelines & Enforcement
Users must comply with all platform rules. ZapLah may enforce:
- Warnings
- Temporary restrictions
- Permanent account closure
- Reports to authorities
14. Limitation of Liability
ZapLah is not responsible for:
- Actions of Requesters or Travellers
- Loss, theft, damage, or confiscation of items
- Indirect, incidental, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
ZapLah’s total liability is limited to fees paid in the last 6 months.
15. Termination & Suspension
ZapLah may suspend or terminate accounts if:
- Users breach Terms
- Actions cause risk or legal exposure
- Required by law or authorities
16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Singapore law. Users submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of Singapore courts.
17. Changes to These Terms
ZapLah may modify these Terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updates.
